In reading Shawn Blanc’s “The Sweet Mac Setup Series“, I’ve realized how awesome Apple’s new 24″ LED display is. The Apple Store’s photography makes the display look too good – at first glance they look like computer renderings, and the gradient background only enhances that feeling. Seeing photos of the product in action, on people’s workspace takes my appreciation to a new level.

I wonder what the LED stuff is all about though.
I just upgraded from a 3yr old first gen macbook to a new macbook pro with a “fancy” LED display, and i’ll say there is absolutely no difference in the way it works other than it makes colors jump out of the screen.
I thought LED was all about speed to power the brightness or saving space, but i can see no diference in that regard between my new led screen and my old whatever screen.
This is slightly off topic though, so regarding the cinema displays, i’ll say that they are gorgeous but i have come to realize i enjoy portability more than a huge screen. I have a pretty much un used 24inch imac because im always on the move..
they do look damn hot though.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too – I love my iMac but i’m going to get a 13″ MacBook and a screen – probably a 24″ dell because it’s way cheaper -$200 vs 900 for the new apple display. I’ll look into the LED vs LCD and write a followip based on my research.
