I started painting in photoshop this evening, eventually merging in a few pictures of the stars from the nebula Messier 78, which shows up fairly often on NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day site.

The painting shows the day and night views of a tower in a desert wasteland of another world. The clear, anemic sky allows the stars to shine through and be visible during the day and night.
