The Avengers is a very well done popcorn flick, but it lacked heart. I really didn't care about any of the characters. They're all super-powerful. The bottom line: John Mayer is better than this. This isn't like Paul McCartney writing a few albums full of silly love songs. At least those albums rocked, this is boring.
