Deadline has broken the news that actor Christopher Eccleston has been cast as the villain in Marvel Studios’ Thor sequel, Thor: The Dark World. Speculation states that he is replacing the actor Mads Mikkelsen in the role that the actor stated he couldn't play due to time restrictions.
The actor is best known for his sci-fi role as the ninth Doctor Who or his role as Destro in GIJOE: The Rise of Cobra, will indeed be playing the long rumored character and Dark Elf Ruler, Malekith The Accursed. This now confirming the rumors that the dark elves would be playing a major role in the film.
Thor: The Dark World is set to release November 8th 2013
