Sweatshop Union: Live in Salt Lake City

Sweatshop Union is a hip hop group from Canada. They have six albums out, the most recent two titled The Bill Murray EP and The Leisure Gang. Seeing them live was an interesting experience. It was the first concert I'd been to in a while, and my first live hip hop performance ever. They were very gracious and appreciative of the crowd. They stuck to performing their music, something I wish the opening act had done rather than taking the opportunity to rant about his personal politics. Sweatshop put on a good show and sang for over an hour straight.
While the venue was small and allowed the crowd to have the up close and personal concert experience, I'd have chosen at least a slightly bigger venue. When the stage takes up more than a fourth of the floor space in the room, the venue is too small.



If you're in Austin, Texas for the music festival portion of SXSW this year and don't know which show to go to, wander around and check out Sweatshop Union at least for a few songs.
