Waking Ideas is the creative studio operated by Danny Nicolas.

The website contains several different sections including:

The Blog: A nearly daily updated weblog by Danny Nicolas and other regular and special guest contributors. The Blog is about the joy of creation and sharing. It's about sharing cool things you learn, see, and make with the world. It's about positive things that people might want to share and talk at the dinner table. So instead of drone clone talk (like "how was school, it was ok, how was work, it was boring, what happened today, nothing out of the ordinary"), actual conversations can happen.

Taylor Landine has been a regular contributor and editor at Waking Ideas, covering film, music, comic books, and other topics on The Blog since 2009. Contact him directly by email or twitter.

Design & Photography: Waking Ideas currently offers web, print, and product design related services, as well as the occasional photography gig. These parts of the site are in the process of being updated to reflect the current direction of the site, but needless to say, I am still available for and am taking on new projects.

Publishing: (Coming Soon) - While The Blog is the initial project of the publishing branch of Waking Ideas, this part of Waking Ideas will soon be expanding.

Behind The Curtain: You are here. This is the section of the site that describes all the sections of the site, as well as providing a link for contributors to login.

The Store: Offers a select number of prints and the note card series.

Idealab: This is the home to all other Waking Ideas related projects.

Also, a number of pages on the legacy WakingIdeas.com portal are still active, but will soon be updated to reflect the current direction of the site. This includes the Request A Quote, Newsletter, and a few other pages.

The current WakingIdeas.com site design is based on CHUNK, one of Automatic’s WordPress Themes.

The blog design is designed by Danny and built on top of on the Yoko theme by Elmastudio.

Most of the site is managed using the latest version of WordPress. Waking Ideas is hosted by Dreamhost. Site statistics are provided using Shaun Inman's Mint.
